Paul Taylor leaves BTCL

The Managing Director of Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL), Paul Taylor is expected to leave the company when his contract expires next month, the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) listed telcom giants said.

The BTCL board chairman said “Paul Taylor will be leaving the employ of the company at the end of his current contract on the 19th July 2016.”

“The Board thanks Mr. Taylor for his commitment to BTCL over the last 5 years. His contributions include revenue growth of nearly 50%, integration of three separate businesses beMOBILE, BTCL Home and Office and Botsnet into one converged organisation.”

During his tenure, he ensured that the business delivered on its Strategy. Taylor also led the separation and transfer of assets exercise that culminated in the creation of BoFiNet in 2013 and guided the subsequent listing of BTCL on the BSE in 2016. The Board of Directors thanks him for his steadfast leadership in steering BTCL in this important phase of transformation.

Anthony Masunga will succeed Taylor, in an acting capacity, as Managing Director until further notice. Masunga is currently the Chief Operating Officer at BTCL.
