Stanbic Bank Botswana has brought joy to kids of Metsimotlhabe Village in the Goo Madisa Ward when the Bank’s Finance Department handed over a refurbished recreational park for the children to enjoy.
This is the second phase of the project in which the playground, a recreational park, is being refurbished with an ablution block, trees and park benches. Amongst those in attendance at the handover event were Kgosi Mmipi, Area M, Pius Mokgware, District Commissioner, S. Moamoge, Deputy Council Secretary for Mogoditshane/Thamaga Sub-district, Mokgachane, VDC Members, parents and jubilant children.
Stanbic Bank Head Treasury & Capital Management, Galeboi Sennanyana said the bank believes in the spirit of giving and spreading kindness. “This is most especially when it comes to our youth: the children of Botswana and, indeed, the future of the Nation,” Sennanyana said.
“When our Finance Department set out on this course in 2013, we were excited by the prospect of creating an environment that would promote a healthy lifestyle for children in the community. With that, our aim is to ensure that this development lasts well into the future, to benefit other generations to come. We remain committed to being a bank that leaves a sustainable impact that enhances the lives of many, and that moves young minds forward.”
The refurbished park is expected to continue affording the children the necessary physical training, social interaction and indeed upliftment. The initiative is part of the Bank’s effort to form meaningful partnerships with local communities to ensure sustained growth and development.
”With yet another warm and embracing welcome to Metsimotlhabe, we thank the community for their generosity, jubilation, and commitment to bettering the lives of their youth. That we can play a small role in this is humbling,” said Sennanyana.
