First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB) Limited has made banking even more pleasurable for local customers. In earnest dedication to bringing the most competitive solutions to help Botswana bank smarter, the Bank has introduced eBucks Rewards, a Rewards Programme providing qualifying customers with the opportunity to get rewarded when they purchase prepaid airtime or prepaid electricity through FNBB’s electronic channels and Private Clients could earn up to 1.5% back in eBucks on qualifying Credit Card swipes. Launched to the media recently, the Rewards Programme will go live on September 19, 2016.

ebucksFNB Botswana Retail Director, Boitumelo Mogopa said they are incredibly proud of this value add, as it serves as an additional means to empower the Botswana consumer to gain greater value for their money while they purchase these vital necessities. 

“Customers can spend their eBucks earned on prepaid airtime and prepaid electricity. Essentially, the better you bank with FNB Botswana, whether via deposits or via purchases using our electronic channels, the more you can earn eBucks and in turn save on your monthly budget,” Mogopa said. 

This makes FirstRand the first banking group to launch a secure electronic rewards currency into Botswana. “We are very excited to expand and introduce our eBucks Rewards Programme into the Botswana market,” said Johan Moolman, CEO of eBucks Rewards South Africa. “We are all very proud of this accomplishment and grateful to FirstRand Bank partners, members and employees who have helped us reach this incredible milestone in our journey to expanding further into Africa by providing customers real value and choice.”

The timing for eBucks Rewards’ introduction into Botswana is perfect as it coincides with the Bank’s 25th Anniversary celebrations. With eBucks Rewards, the Bank is rewarding customers for their loyalty over a journey of 25 years and for embracing the many first-to-market solutions such as Cellphone Banking, Online banking, eWallet and many more.

The requirements for earning eBucks vary from one customer segment to another. For example, Premier customers must swipe for at least P500 per month on their Debit or Credit Card.

The amount of eBucks members will enjoy all depends on the way they bank and the products they hold, for example:    Using electronic channels instead of going to an FNB branch, taking out a Personal Loan; taking up savings and investment solutions; using FNB Debit and Credit Cards, and utilising ADTs (Automated Deposit Tellers).

“eBucks Rewards programme takes our customer centricity agenda one step further – by rewarding customers for banking with us. It’s all about saying ‘thank you’ to our customers for displaying the desired banking behaviour,” added Mogopa.  eBucks Rewards from FNB will provide insurmountable value across FNBB’s customer segments and includes the following value adds:

SMART Customers: Can earn up to 10% back in eBucks on their monthly prepaid airtime spend. Qualifying customers must have an active FNBB Smart Current Account with minimum monthly deposits of P1, 500.00, and perform at least one transaction through any of FNBB’s electronic channels, including Online Banking, Cellphone Banking and FNBB Banking App. 

        GOLD Customers: Can earn up to 15% back in eBucks on their monthly prepaid airtime spend. Qualifying customers must have an active FNBB Gold Current Account with minimum monthly deposits of P2, 500.00, swipe their FNBB cards, and perform at least one transaction through any of FNBB’s electronic channels including Online Banking, Cellphone Banking and FNBB Banking App. 

         PREMIER Customers: Can earn up to 15% back in eBucks on their monthly spend on prepaid airtime and prepaid electricity. Qualifying customers must have an active FNBB Premier Current Account with minimum monthly deposits of P12, 500.00. Have an FNBB Premier Credit Card in good standing, swipe their FNBB cards for a minimum of P500.00 per month and perform at least one transaction through any of FNBB’s electronic channels including Online Banking, Cellphone Banking and FNBB Banking App. 

 PRIVATE CLIENTS Customers: Can earn up to 15% back in eBucks on their monthly spend on prepaid airtime and prepaid electricity and can earn up to 1.5% back in eBucks on qualifying Credit Card swipes and online purchases every month. Qualifying customers must have an active FNBB Private Clients Current Account with minimum monthly deposits of P35, 000.00. Have an FNBB Private Clients Credit Card in good standing, swipe their FNBB cards for a minimum of P1 000.00 per month and perform at least one transaction through any of FNBB’s electronic channels including Online Banking, Cellphone Banking and FNBB Banking App.
