Botswana Fibre Networks (BoFiNet) has connected the National Stadium with Wi-Fi in Gaborone and the Francistown Sports Complex as part of the Bot50 celebrations that will culminate with Independence eve activities and Independence Day celebrations on the 30th of September 2016. In addition to connecting the two stadiums, all Botswana Hotspots will be free from 06:00 on the 29th September to 23:59 on the 30th September.
The whole purpose of these connection is to enhance the experience of those who will be at the two facilities for the country’s Golden Jubilee of Independence, providing high capacity Wi-Fi to enable revelers and Botswana’s well wishers to stay connected to the various platforms of interaction, including the likes of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It is in this regard that they will be able to share their experience with the rest of the world.
The Wi-Fi which will appear as BOT50 HOTSPOT on devices, will provide good coverage within the parameters of the stadiums allowing users to connect to a speed of 2Mbps when the stadiums is at full capacity.
BoFiNet encourages future partnerships between events organisers and Internet Service Providers to enhance the experience of events in the country.
